NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)

Abstract: In 7 pages, the author disagrees with the statement 'As a creature of the Cold War, NATO is an institution that has outlived its usefulness and should be disbanded,' and gives reasons for that disagreement. NATO was begun as a Cold War institution, but it will continue to exist as long as there is a necessity for it to do so. NATO is just as useful in the present, as it was in the middle of the twentieth century. It is important for just such instances as the situation is Kosovo where genocide was being committed.
