American Institute Of Conservation (AIC): Preservation Methods

Abstract: 3 pages in length. The inherent value of history is for people to understand their cultural heritage, see how the global society progressed over time, learn from mistakes, expound upon successes and carry forth this information into the future. Artifacts and documents play a critical role in the ability to recall the past; if it were not for historical objects, man would be ill-equipped to piece together his chronology as a species. The American Institute of Conservation (AIC) exists for the sole purpose of recovering, collecting, repairing and preserving relics from ago as a means by which to keep the past alive.
