Abstract: This 5 page paper begins by identifying some of the events that occurred before the 16th century that paved the way for the Reformation, including some of the theologians who had already translated some of Scripture and who argued against specific actions of the Papacy. Some of the individuals discussed include Wycliffe, Hus, Luther, Erasmus, and Sir Thomas More. The writer comments on the importance of the printing press in the Reformation. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
