The self-referentiality of postmodern art was no more an the exclusivity of the elite but rather an open invitation for all walks of life to enjoy, engage in and interact with what has long been considered one of mankind's greatest moments of growth. Hot off the heels of what was most certainly an elitist movement of modernity, postmodern art very purposefully spoke to everyone while at the same embracing the oneness of self so consequential to the change. Maurizio Cattelan and Richard Serra are two artists who effectively illustrate this reachable tenet of postmodern art by creating works attainable to all without discriminatory undertones.
