Aiding Democratic Consolidation In Turkey

Abstract: A 9 page paper with specific sections. The first section discusses the techniques used for aiding democratization that the U.S. could use. The second section provides an overview of the situation in Turkey, a short history of democracy, problems, the delay in the application to join the EU. These are meant to illustrate the impediments or obstacles to consolidation. Next, the essay offers some suggestions for aiding democratic consolidation in Turkey and finally, the writer discusses some suggestions for improving the toolbox of techniques used.
