European Union; International organisation or the Early States of Single European Sovereign State

Abstract: This 7 page paper examines the position of the member state within the European Union, and discusses where sovereignty currently resides and considers whether or not the EU is the an international organisation made up of its members or is it a stage in the development of a European state. The paper also considers what would need to happen to the EU for it to be transformed into a state and whether such a development is the inevitable consequence of the EU development.
