Abstract: This 6 page paper looks at the rights of women in Bahrain to vote and stand for election. The paper looks at this placing in the broader Middle East and Arab context considering the rights and position of women to vote and play a role in political life under Islam and in other Arab nations. Comparisons are made with other countries, including, but not limited to Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt. The paper proved a table of countries with voting rights for women as an appendix. The bibliography cites 8 sources.
