E-Commerce; The Need for an International Treaty

Abstract: This 22 page paper discusses the following statement. Given the global nature of e-commerce, attempts to create an efficient set of legal rules that regulate consumer protection within the UK and Europe are short sighted. What is really required, in order to guarantee the success of e-commerce, is an International Treaty dealing with consumer protection and an International Commercial Court, which does not suffer from any jurisdictional difficulties.
