Abstract: This 21 page paper examines the direct and indirect effects that are suffered by orphans of HIV/AIDS victims. The paper starts by looking at what aids is and its prevalence in Sub-Sahara Africa along with the level of orphans it has created. The paper then considers the impact on the family and the children including health, wealth, education and family relationships. The paper ends by looking the policies in place to deal with the problems faced by the orphans. The bibliography cites 40 sources.
