African American Museum/Sackler/Freer Gallery Complex

Abstract: A 4 page essay/research paper that discusses Carol Duncan's observation that modern museum represent a form of ritual in regards to the Anacostia Museum and Center for African American History and Culture and the Sackler/Freer Gallery complex. Because these museums are smaller, the writer argues that the experience of seeing them is necessarily different from seeing a larger museum, such as the National Galleries.
