Abstract: This 10 page paper provides an overview of computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM). This paper relates the fact that that computer aided operations, including computer aided drafting and design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) have become the standard in the manufacturing sector, and have replaced the simple pencil and paper drawings that used to direct manufacturing planning.
