Abstract: This 3 page paper examines Plato's ideas about private property through reviewing the Republic and Milton Friedman's free trade concept. The ideas are compared and contrasted and it is suggested that Plato had communist ideals. Friedman is supported as the theorist who is best aligned with contemporary American thought.
