The Age of Absolutism: A Look at the Reign of Louis XIV

Abstract: This 7 page paper evaluates the era of the Sun King when France had indulged in excesses under the leadership of a sole king. The concept of absolutism is explored in light of what Louis XIV had done. Some of his decisions, inclusive of the banishment of Protestantism, are explored in depth. Louis XIV's place in French history is also explored. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
