Animations as a Window on the World

Abstract: This 5 page paper looks at how the media, and in particular animations can be interpreted as windows on the world. First defining how the media is a window on the world, the paper looks at a range of animations including Disney animations, cartoons such as the Flintstones and the Jetsons, and more recently the Simpsons, films such as Shrek and Monster Inc. as well as Japanese animations, all of which are seen reflecting the world of the time they were created.
