Abstract: This 5 page report discusses how Frida Kahlo presents a world of bold colors and the straight-forward gaze of her subjects. She is especially startling in terms of the boldness of her surrealistic visions which are almost always of herself. She established a new way of thinking about women as artists and their projection of themselves. Cindy Sherman and Hanna Wilke are briefly discussed and noted as doing the same.
