Principles

Abstract: Deciding whether or not principles are based on choice or whether they are 'inherited' seems to be a matter of deciding whether it is the social controls that determine the principles or whether the individual is in control of their own development. This 5 page paper explores the beliefs of Aristotle, Marx, Freud and Sartre in an effort to answer the question: "do we choose our principles or are they handed down to us".
