Abstract: A 5 page overview of the architectural movement known as the Bauhaus movement, a movement in which founder Walter Gropius attempted to congeal all the arts (even arts as diverse as the visual arts, industrial art, and architecture) into one socially oriented program in which social responsibility of the artist served as an emphasis. The author points out that the movement emphasized a balance between aesthetics, technical merit, and practicality. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
