Abstract: An eight page paper which looks at the life and works of the Emperor Constantine, the first Christian Roman Emperor and the founder of Constantinople. The paper explores the early influences on his life, his military career, his protection of Christians against the Pagan majority and the importance of the Edict of Milan and the First Ecumenical Council in terms of the growth of Christianity and the freedom of Christian worship.
