Abstract: This 5 page report discusses pre-Socratic philosophy which was born in the Greek cities of Ionia at the end of the 7th century BCE. The establishment of the Ionian school in Miletos should be considered as the actual point of departure for pre-Socratic thinking. The pre-Socratic philosophers were able to weave reason and intuition into their search for truth in a remarkably erudite and articulate manner. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
