The Failure of a Common Security Policy in Europe

Abstract: This 16 page paper considers the role and place of the common security policy in the European Union. It is only in recent years it has become an accepted issue within EU politics and this paper argues that and that the lack of centralisation along with the desire to retain control and power by the nation states, supported by the principles of subsidiarity that have created the situation where the implementation of the policy is almost impossible.
