High Rise Buildings / The Construction of Skyscrapers & The Emerging Use of Design and Construction Technologies

Abstract: When creating high rise buildings, demand on the structures, air pressure, and the central framing components all impact the outcome of the building process. This 5 page paper considers the process of creating steel and concrete framing and the tolerance required when utilizing different materials. In addition, this paper also reflects upon the increasing use of technology, including design and construction computer systems, that reduce the spacing in buildings segments, including leeway allotted between framing and the curtain walls, in order to provide greater support for the long-term function of the building and the meeting of compliance requirements.
