The Soviet Union Should Have Been Accepted Into The League Of Nations In 1919

Abstract: 6 pages in length. If the Soviet Union was accepted into the League of Nations in 1919, one might readily argue that such inclusion could have prevented a world war. A bold statement indeed, however, it is one based within truth of its conviction. Upon examining the basis upon which World War II was instigated, it becomes clear that with the Soviet Union among those nations seeking unified peace efforts, there would have been little left to fight about. As such, one might also contend that the League of Nations undermined its primary goal of creating peace through out Europe by not seeing to it that the Soviet Union became an acting member.
