Dante and the Cathedral

Abstract: (5 pp.) It has been suggested that there are several ways in which Dante's complex poem the Inferno is similar to a Gothic Cathedral. This discussion will look at those possibilities. The physical Cathedral, which will be used as a mental picture for comparison will be St. Elizabeth (1233-1283 ) in Marburg, Germany
