Abstract: Dante in Inferno and Plato in The Republic both address the relationship between the soul and the sins of man. This 5 page paper argues that Dante's presentation of the levels of sin reflect Plato's beliefs of what constituted the soul and negatively mirrors the attributes of an ideal society.
