Abstract: 20 pages in length. Giulio Romano, also known as Giulio di Pietro de'Gianuzzi Giulio Pippi, was one of Italy's most prominent mannerist painters. His instrumental existence within the world of art stands out with his presence during the Mannerism Period, a time in Italy that existed between the Renaissance and Baroque periods, heavily assuming an emotional and stylized imagery primarily directed toward the human figure. Particularly characteristic of the Mannerism Period is that of distorted, exaggerated interpretation coupled with intense color application. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
