Abstract: This 5 page report discusses the fact that the19th century was a time of significant economic expansion throughout the world. What each of the many Central European nations had in common was the fact that the Jewish community in each country made a substantial contribution to the overall development of the national identity and successes. In terms of economic expansion, the Jewish community contributed in terms of its various commercial initiatives and enterprises, as well as its willingness to serve as money lenders and brokers.
