Sexual Equality And Rousseau

Abstract: The writings of Rousseau form a significant component of the political philosophies that have guided the establishment and form of government in the United States. This 5 page paper argues that Rousseau's discourse on inequality can be seen to present the argument that civil society, as opposed to the natural state of man, must acknowledge the equality of the sexes inasmuch as the rules that once governed man in his natural state are no longer applicable.
